Naukri.com is a product of Info Edge (India) Ltd, which is country’s first public listed internet firm. This  acclaimed job search portal is founded by Sanjeev Bikhchandani in the year of 1997 when India had only 14,000 internet users.

Statistics show that in the year of 2015, November, Naukri.com had about 44 million registered job seekers. An average of 11,000 resumes are added daily to this job search engine while about 1,30,000 resumes are modified everyday during the fiscal year of 2013-14; 51,000 corporate customers including hiring consultants and firms paid this job portal for services like database access, advertising/listing and many more. As per Comscore, this job search engine pilots the online job market with 70% traffic share.

How Naukri.com Started:-

Sanjeev Bikhchandani is the founder and executive chairman of Naukri.com. After leaving his job at Hindustan Milkfood Manufacturers, Mr. Bikhchandani along with a partner founded Info Edge and Indmark. It started as an employment exchange, which used to sell salary reports to various companies. In the year of 1991, Info Edge and Indmark parted their ways.

Due to economic recession, the company encountered loss in 1996. With the help of Anil Lal and VN Saroja it again came back to the shape. On this very year, this company released its first television commercial. It spent a lot of money on online and offline advertising. After launching, the first version of the website collected 1000 jobs from 29 newspapers. Soon various business magazines and newspapers flooded with its reviews.

How It Works:-

A job seeker (fresher/ experienced) registers in Naukri with his/her updated resume. The candidate hunters then check the resumes and if the skill-set matches their requirements, they call the job seeker or leave e-mails for the interviews.

Growth:-

Right after its establishments Naukri’s growth was elemental. However, due to massive positive reviews and newspaper articles soon it boomed. Within two years, this company had a turnover of 1.8 millions and on the third year, the turnover jumped to 3.6 millions, with 1.8 millions of profit.

How It Generates Revenues:-

Currently, this online job portal follows Business-to-Business and Business-to-consumer models. Almost 90% of its revenues are earned from the recruiters and 10% from the job seeker services. Subscription fees and advertising are its foremost income sources.

Monthly Report:-

Naukri.com  publishes a monthly report known as Naukri JobSpeak, which shows the hiring trend in various sectors. It also helps to find out the job scenario of Indian Market.

Mobile Apps:-

In 2012, this online job search engine released its mobile app, which made job search easier for the Android, iPhone, and Blackberry users.

Awards:-   

In 2012, Naukri.com has been recognized as the finest classified website at the 2nd edition of the India Digital Awards organized by the Internet and Mobile Association of India and in 2014, it won the “Best Website of The Year” award for career and education segment by Metrixlab.  This company also received the Consumer Connect ‘Campaign of the Year’ award for the famous Hari Sadu Commercial and “Red Herring Asia 100” for the INSTA HIRE solution in 2006. In 2007, it bagged the “Best TVC India and South Asia” award.
